6. Egyptians used Castor oil as balm and skin creams made of beeswax olive oil and rosewater used by the Romans were described to have come into existence at around the same time in history.
7. The ancient Egyptians and the Greeks were pioneers in eye makeup dating by back to 840 BC.
8. Tremella fuciformis was a beauty product used by women in Japan and china, the product actually helped delay ageing as it is a powerful antioxidant.
9. In the 19th century Queen Victoria declared makeup improper, vulgar and to be used only by actors and prostitutes.
10. In 1909, L’oreal was found as a harmless hair colouring company, the company is now the world’s largest cosmetics company.
11. Lead based powders were once popular in the 18th century, needless to say, they were discontinues after several cases of lead poisoning came to light.
12. Some of the changes that have taken place in recent times are that many cosmetic retailers have taken things on the internet and that there is an increased acceptance for makeup amongst men, with specialized products developed for men and more men willing to use them now.
